We also recommend that you strap the back tire to the wall-mounted bike rack using one of the many tie down points (straps are not included). This is for safety; if you have little kids or a vehicle close by you do not want the bike coming off the hook and crashing down, injuring someone or damaging something. Other mounting ways will work but may not be the safest or stable. You should mount the Everhold Wall Mount Bike Rack to a sturdy structure like stud in the wall or frame work of the garage or basement.
