This carrier is a fork mount bicycle rack that features a durable, double wall aluminum tray and an aerodynamic die-cast head. A great feature of this rooftop bicycle carrier is that it is approved for carbon fiber forks, making this one of the more versatile bike mounts on the market. Loading and unloading the Thule Prologue is a breeze — simply set up the Prologue with the universal mounting hardware — the durable stainless steel locking skewer and grasp clamping lever — which is easy to operate! The fork of your bike is held in place by a skewer system, which uses a ratcheting nut and securing lever, so your bike’s forks are safe, secure, and will not be damaged. The rear wheel of your bike is secured to a corrosion resistant, single-wall aluminum tray that uses a ratcheting strap to keep the rear wheel from coming loose.
This fork mounted carrier comes equipped with a single walled aluminum wheel tray that fits tire widths of up to 2.6 inches and wheelbases of up to 48 inches. Included with this rooftop rack is a single one-key lock cylinder and key which is used to lock the bike to the carrier and the carrier to the rack. This system is a great way to keep your bicycle safe. For additional security and convenience, the Thule One-Key system (sold separate) will allow you to lock your bike to the carrier and the carrier to the roof rack of your vehicle. This roof bike rack will carry one bicycle that has a wheelbase up to 48 inches. The tires on your bicycle can be up to 2.6 inches wide and still be compatible with the Thule bike rack. Suspension combinations with 9 millimeter axles or disc brakes will fit on this bicycle rack as well. The Thule Prologue rooftop bike rack also features a durable composite nylon head and fits Thule rack systems as well as other round bars. The Thule Prologue 516 comes with a manufacturer’s limited lifetime warranty.
