My name is Debra and I will be with Discount Ramps 7 years this coming April. For many years I sold on ebay for myself, family, and friends for extra money, and when this position was advertised I received so many calls telling me to apply. I did and here I am–and I’m still having fun!! Come on – who wouldn’t kill for a job working with ebay all day? Of course, I have advanced from order entry to the account manager position. As our company expanded and continues to grow, so have my responsibilities and I enjoy all the day to day challenges. eBay is a large portion of my day, but so is Amazon and a few other web sites that I take care of. Most importantly, one of my major jobs is to move, by re-selling, customer returned products. I do this by posting on ebay, Craig’s list, phone calls, etc.
I am married to my husband, Daryl, 24 years. He is a very successful, self employed piano tuner technician for the last 30 years. As such, he has tuned for hundreds of individuals, churches, organizations, and entertainers who perform at a local PAC which is the tuner on call. We’ve enjoyed several concerts as a result of those performers asking him to stay on the scene in case he was needed or who have called asking him to travel specifically to other cities to tune for them! Renowned Russian pianist, Kostia, did a live recording at our local Art museum that Daryl is also the house tuner for. It was awesome to have had a part in that! Our only child, Lisa, is in her 4th year of college at University of Milwaukee in the Performing Arts field. When she graduates she will have a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts with an emphasis on acting, plus degrees in Religions Studies and History. We are very proud of her.
One of my hobbies has always been counted cross stitching. But as I’ve aged, of course so has my eyesight. I find I have a harder time seeing those tiny holes. I’ve since moved up to Plastic Canvas which has larger holes! I have created and continue to create projects for both work and as gifts for friends. I would love some day to find a way to make money selling my Plastic Canvas pieces. I have begun planning a company wide craft sale for next spring or summer.
