Hi, my name is Michelle! I have been working in Customer Service for Discount Ramps.Com since May 2008. I work directly with customers who call or email looking for information on orders, returns or if they have a problem. I also handle sales and shipping issues as well.
The best part of the position is the customers. It sounds cliche being a customer service rep, but they really are. I love being able to help resolve the problems or concerns of our customers. The greatest reward is the heartfelt thank you and appreciation the customer has for your help. I am so proud to be part of this company and what we are providing.
Outside of work I am a mother and a wife. My daughter just turned 4 and my husband and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary. We spend the majority of our free time together as a family. With my daughter’s endless energy and her spirited imagination, our time together is always an adventure. We’ll go on pirate ships to save a princess or racing zebras in Africa. Keeps things very interesting!
Thank you for taking the time to read my addition to the Discount Ramps.com Blog. Have a wonderful day!
Here is a post from our shipping department about the benefits of importing from China:
“Contrary to popular belief, importing from China helps create and support American based jobs. Discount Ramps.Com currently employs 41 employees with plans to add 21 new full time employees over the next three years. The ordering process starts with our purchasing department who places our order with the foreign vendor. Once the order is received the vendor emails the purchasing department a performa invoice (PI). Once the PI is received we enter a purchase order into our system and wire a down payment from our American based bank. From there China begins to fulfill our order and load the product into a metal shipping container. Once the order is close to completion the vendor notifies Geodis Wilson that our order is ready to ship. Geodis Wilson is one our freight management companies who transports our containers from China to the United States. Geodis Wilson employs roughly 400 employees in the United States. Geodis Wilson will assign our container to be loaded onto an ocean bound vessel that will sail from China to Tacoma, WA or Los Angeles, CA. When the container arrives in the port, US Customs inspects the container. US Customs employs countless government based US jobs. Once the container has been cleared by customs, it is loaded from the ship onto a rail car destined for Logistics Park in Chicago, IL. By using rail cars, numerous American based jobs are maintained – from the conductor to the many men and women that service the rail cars, unload the rail cars, and maintain the rail tracks. At this time Aim Transfer is notified that we have an inbound container and they notify Discount Ramps.Com that we will have a container and request us to choose a delivery date. Aim Transfer is our premiere intermodal transportation company that picks up our containers from Chicago and delivers to our location in West Bend, WI. Currently AIM Transfer employs 175 employees in their Oak Creek, WI location. When the container arrives at our location it is hand unloaded by Discount Ramps.Com receiving team and is counted and put away in our warehouses. From there the creative design team creates a web page to advertise the new product that we have just received. The sales staff sells the item to the customer and the accounting department bills the customer for the order. The product is then packaged and shipped by the Discount Ramps.Com shipping department and picked up by UPS. We ship roughly 90% of our orders through UPS. UPS is a Worldwide shipping company that employs roughly 358,400 employees in the United States. The other 10% of our product is ship via Freight Line and we primarily use Con-Way, YRC, Dayton, ABF and Roadrunner which supports countless American Based jobs. To sum it all up, importing from China creates and supports numerous American based jobs.”
At Discount Ramps, we know most of you riders not only ride, but work on, show off, and store your bikes by yourself. That is why we bring you the Black Widow motorcycle and ATV jack. This heavy-duty hydraulic jack/lift can make any work on your motorcycle or ATV much more efficient and easy. Whether you own a cruiser, dirt bike, quad, or sport bike, wouldn’t you like to save time and money by doing your own work, cleaning, or fixing or just not having to pay storage fees? With this hydraulic jack lift, your bike’s frame will be protected by the non-slip high quality rubber pads that are on the saddle of the jack. Once the bike is off the ground on the 2.5 inch by 12.5 inch rubber pads you know your bike is safe from sliding and frame damage while lifting or moving. Another great feature of this motorcycle lift is the spring assisted hydraulic foot pedal with non-skid rubber padding and a foot pedal release valve that lets you keep two hands holding the motorcycle or ATV steady while lifting or lowering. The high quality rear caster wheels have ball bearing swivels and adjustable stabilizing screw down legs which prevents the motorcycle jack from moving while they are down. If you own a quad or a bike, Discount Ramps would like you to see for yourself how easy maintaining a machine is when it is on your level. No more bending down to get at hard to reach areas or the drive chain.
The product number of this motorcycle jack is Model# BW-JACK. This lift features a 1,500 pound weight capacity which fits virtually any bike. Also, this lift has an integrated tie-down strap loop system (straps are included). The 3 inch by 4 inch spring assisted rubber padded foot pedal allows you to keep your hands on the motorcycle or ATV without much bending of the body. The lift has rear caster wheels with ball bearing swivels (14 inches wide wheel to wheel) for easy transportation and a removable 27 inch long jack handle to make the ATV/motorcycle jack even easier to move around your garage or shop. The safety lock arms have three locking positions to ensure your safety along with your bike or ATV. The hydraulic lift can raise bikes from 4.75 inches to 16.5 inches in height quickly and safely.
