Sales Department – Andy W

I’m a member of the sales department at Discount Ramps.Com. Although our duties are many, the most important is to offer technical advice and product recommendations. Our goal is to provide a product that will work safely for the application. We are successful many more times than not.

Helping individuals and families with wheelchair and mobility products is certainly most rewarding when we know individuals can come and go from their homes where they were unable to do so otherwise.

My primary concern is for the safety of the individuals and equipment, and I take a conservative approach to both. Nobody likes bad surprises such as items that do not work as intended and equipment being damage and people injured. You may not always like the answers you receive, but I provide the best advise that I can so that you are satisfied with your purchase.

Discount Ramps has an outstanding website and a very talented staff creating and maintaining our web pages. These pages provide far more information than most other websites, which makes my job easier as the answers to the vast majority of your phone calls are answered on the web page. When answers are not there, we find them for you and often have the information added to the page so those in the future will have access to those facts.

I enjoy seeking world peace, including any the use of force as is most often required, and a cure for cancer in my spare time. In addition, with the economy in the tank and NASA suffering budgetary cuts I’m exploring the privatization of NASA also. As you can well imagine, I’m quite busy in my “off” time. I’d love to write more but my watch is beeping. It is time for my meds and it is very important that I stay medicated. I’m compiling a portfolio of photos of all the people in my head but there appears be a population explosion so it may be a while. I’d hate to miss anyone as I’d never hear the end of it. Have a special day.

My name is Jay and I am in the Sales Department here at Discount Ramps.com. I hold an Electronics Degree from Milwaukee Area Technical College in Milwaukee, WI. My father was a Master Leather Craftsman who migrated his family from Mexico to Wisconsin. Spanish was my first language, but I mastered English at a very young age. Being bilingual helps when we need to communicate with Spanish speaking customers.

One of my first jobs after college was working as a Rehabilitation Equipment Repair Technician. I repaired power wheelchairs, scooters, wheelchair lifts and numerous other kinds of medical rehabilitation equipment. After working in the Medical Rehabilitation field for some time, I left to pursue a career in Audio Concert Production & Engineering. The music industry moves fast & is often unforgiving. There I learned how to execute tasks with precision & developed strong communication skills. I later found my way to Discount Ramps and bring all of my past knowledge to this fantastic team of professionals.

I pride myself on my strong work ethic & rigorous attention to detail. I believe in the power of good communication and apply it to problem solving here at work. My favorite part about Discount Ramps.com is working with people from many demographic & ethnic backgrounds. I love getting calls from happy customers in every state on any given day. I can be reached directly at: 262-353-7908 or Toll Free (888) 651-3431 ext 7908 and my email is jayt@discountramps.com

Sales Department – Mark

My name is Mark and I have been an employee with Discount Ramps.Com since May of 2002. I am a part-time Sales Representative among other duties with the company. I work full time for the City of West Bend Fire Department as a FF/Paramedic. That is how I became friends with and eventually worked for the founder of Discountramps.Com, Joel Lederhause.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in advertising and marketing from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. I also hold a 2 yr Associate degree in Fire Science from Fox Valley Tech College and hold various other certifications related to the Fire Service. Along with being a Paramedic, I am also a Hazardous Materials Tech., Scuba trained, and an ACE certified personal trainer for the Fire Dept. I have been with the Fire Dept. since July of 1997.

I love working at Discount Ramps for various reasons. It is a very laid back but still productive work environment. Since Joel was also a Firefighter, he has remained very flexible with my schedule of when I am able to work. It has been interesting seeing the company grow from 2002 until now. I have recently been giving the challenge of procuring a GSA contract for Discount Ramps.Com, which has been both rewarding and challenging. I also enjoy answering customer’s questions and helping them find solutions to their loading problems-whatever they may be.

I am married to my lovely wife, Samantha, for almost 16 yrs. We have two children, a son Gavin who is 15 and daughter Storey who is 12. I like sports, fitness, and am an avid bow hunter. I spend most of my off time with my family–either hunting with my son or at various sporting events my children are in, which include wrestling and gymnastics.

I joined the Discountramps.Com team in 2002 because Joel’s business was growing and he wanted to hire people he trusted and would work hard for him. I could not think of a better part time job than working for Discount Ramps.Com. If I was not a Firefighter and did not love doing that job, I am sure I would work at Discount Ramps.Com full time. The company is evolving, expanding its product line, and always poses new challenges and opportunities to its employees.

Ray V in our Sales Department

My name is Ray and I am a Sales Representative for Discount Ramps.  I had no idea what this title or position would mean to me in the future.  After 5 years (and counting!) of dealing with all sorts of customers in all different walks of life, I realize that we INDEED provide valuable and necessary products for people!

I even bring my work home with me at times explaining to my wife and children about trailers we see on the roads and how we provide ramps for the drivers to load items on.  I explain to the them about when they see motorcycles in the back of pick-up trucks, that if they used our ramps, life would’ve been easier for them to load and unload.  Sometimes they see people walking their dogs, and the dogs are straining to keep up the pace with the owners.  I tell my kids that we actually have strollers that the dogs would be able to enjoy with the owners happily pushing them in!  Sometimes, at the grocery store or movie theaters, we see mobility carriers on the back of vehicles.  I tell my family that those carriers are vital for people to get around town so the people can use their mobility chairs to go shopping or visit relatives.

I am enjoying my career with Discount Ramps .Com as it provides me the opportunity to offer the necessary items that can greatly affect our daily lives.  That alone provides me with a reassuring feeling that my job is an extremely important one to have and be proud of!  There is a great sense of pride knowing that I am part of a team providing a valuable service working for a company such as Discount Ramps!
