Shipping – Marty

I’m Marty and I am the Shipping & Warehouse manager at Discount Ramps.Com and have had the pleasure of working here for almost 4 years. In my previous life, I worked in the grocery business for just short of 40 years, with the last 30 of those years in management or as part of a Retail Support Team. I have always enjoyed a challenge, and Discount Ramps has not let me down with the continual increases of 20 to 25 percent each year I have been here. One of the things I really like about this job is the atmosphere here is truly family. Young or old, it doesn’t matter-everyone gets along and everyone works productively. You are appreciated here…. rewarded by your work ethics and results… What a GREAT CONCEPT.

 

My wife’s name is Georgianna and we have been married almost 32 years. We have lived in West Bend for the last 25 years, but we are both originally from Milwaukee. We have one daughter that lives in La Crosse who is married and who has blessed us with our only grandchild, Sophie Rose. We enjoy visiting them as well as touring around that side of Wisconsin. My summer free time is spent working around the house (on the lawn or in the garden) or going fishing as much as I can. The fall time is when I do even more fishing, always trying to catch the wall hanging Muskie. Christmas time brings out my other hobby…. I collect Holiday Nut Crackers. My collection is at approximately 350 and growing. It takes an entire weekend to put them on display.

 

Every day is a day I look forward to, both at home and at my job….. Nothing complicated, but I truly enjoy it…..LIFE IS GOOD…..

My name is Karen Alliet and I am the Shipping Coordinator for DiscountRamps.Com. I process all UPS and Freight orders that leave from our warehouse in West Bend, WI. I have had extensive training in UPS Worldship, UPS Trackpad and processing International Documents (NAFTA, SED, etc). Along with the extensive on the job training, I am working towards my Associates Degree in Business through the UW System. Once my Associate’s Degree is completed, I would like to continue with a Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics and Materials Management through Marquette University. DiscountRamps.Com is an amazing company to be employed with. Joel, the CEO of Discount Ramps.Com, is always encouraging us to grow in our careers by offering opportunities to advance and be more involved in the company.

I started at Discount Ramps.Com in August 2007 as a customer service representative and have loved being with the company ever since. In 2008, I moved to the shipping/receiving department when a position was created for me. In my working years I have never worked with such an amazing group of people. We truly have become a family and always support each other through our endeavors. I cannot imagine working for a company other than Discount Ramps. We do everything in our power to create and maintain positive life-long relationships with our customers.

My favorite line of products that we offer is our mobility products. We offer competitive prices on wheelchair ramps and mobility carriers along with free shipping. I truly enjoy being able to help our customers in truly challenging times.

Away from Discount Ramps, I have been happily married for four years to my husband Davi. We have two beautiful sons, Nolan and David, and a golden retriever puppy, Zoe. In my spare time, which is rare with two children and a puppy, I enjoy bowling in couple’s league with my husband and playing softball. Overall, Discount Ramps.Com is a truly amazing company and I look forward to expanding my career with them.
