Here is a product review from Mel in our Web Development Department!
In August DiscountRamps.Com got in a brand new product called the RBX-3873 Cargo Roof Box. I happened to have a trip planned up to Harshaw WI, approximately 247 miles north of Milwaukee near Rhinelander, to visit my wife’s grandmother who lives at her family’s lake house. My wife and I recently purchased a 2009 Nissan Murano, and while it was a big bump up in storage capacity compared to our Toyota Camry, with a growing family space is definitely at a premium. I figured this would be a perfect opportunity to test out our new Roof Box and get some beautiful product shots for the website!
My Murano came equipped with the factory side rails but not cargo roof bars which would be needed to install the roof box. After looking through some of the cargo roof bars DiscountRamps.Com carries, I decided the RB-1004-49 Carbon Steel Roof Bars would do the trick and look good at the same time.
The night before our trip I installed the cargo bars and roof box and we were set. On this trip the roof box wouldn’t be used for luggage, but for four bushes that needed to be brought up north to be planted. Our luggage fit inside the vehicle just fine, and the bushes fit perfectly inside the roof box keeping the dirt out of our vehicle.
The four hour drive up was uneventful and I forgot the roof box was even up there. The next morning after our arrival I unloaded the bushes and cleaned out the little bit of dirt that had fallen off of the roots during the drive. Throughout the weekend I’d put stuff in the roof box that I didn’t necessarily have room for or want in the vehicle. The push button latch system works just as it should and keeps the box closed up tight even at freeway speeds. I really liked the gas hydraulic shocks that lift the lid once you open the latch. The box is the perfect size too. A weekends worth of camping gear and luggage would be no problem for the roof box. The rest of the weekend the roof box performed flawlessly and it looked pretty cool up there.
All-in-all I was very pleased with the ease of use, the look, and the quality of the roof box over the 3 days of use. The RBX-3873 Cargo Roof Box is a serious bargain at $299.99 compared to some of the other roof boxes on the market that can cost considerably more.
Thanks for sharing Mel!

This was submitted by Bob K, President of Discount Ramps.
I am Bob K, (president of Discount Ramps), an avid bow hunter and outdoorsman. A dream of mine has always been to take a bow hunting trip out West for elk. A friend and I got a chance to make this dream happen this year. It was a do it yourself archery hunt on public land in Colorado. The tags were available over the counter to anyone so we new this would be a tough hunt because of the amount of people that use these public lands and the pressure it gets. Marty Williams, the owner of Lets Go Aero and a supplier of Discount Ramps, lives in Colorado Springs and is also an avid hunter agreed to show us some of the hot spots in South Central Colorado that he has hunted for the past 10 years. I was very grateful that Marty agreed to help out as I would have no clue where to start out in the huge state of CO. After a 17 hour drive we made it to Colorado Springs and stayed at Marty’s house. We work with Lets Go Aero via phone calls and emails but it was really nice to finally meet Marty and his wife and business partner Sara in person. Marty and Sara were kind enough to cook us a nice steak dinner the evening we arrived. We discussed our hunting plans, business and new product ideas that Marty had and then off to bed for another 5 hour drive to camp in the morning.
After a total of 23 hours in the truck, we finally made it to our destination and set up camp. It took my friend and I over an hour to set up our outfitter tent. Marty brought along a slick new product of his called the GearWagon 125 (coming soon to Discount Ramps). We were really impressed that Marty had his camp set up in a matter of 10 minutes including the optional Tentris ArcHaus he brought along with him for a gear storage area.
Although we did not come home with an elk we had a great time and did manage to see some large herds opening weekend. I would like to personally thank Marty and Sara for the hospitality and the time they spent with us to help out. This just goes to show what kind of people run Lets Go Aero. They are kind and always willing to help people out. Thank you!
Thanks sharing that great story Bob!
