The Kuat Sherpa bike rack is an innovative hitch mounted bike rack that features a quick fold up and tilt down mechanism for quick access into the rear hatch of your vehicle. Made from a lightweight and rust proof aluminum, this platform style bike rack holds up to 2 bicycles. The Sherpa will get you and your bikes to where you need to go in style. You easily can mount almost any sized bike by the wheels so you won’t have to worry about scratching the paint or messing around with straps and bungee cords. The platform design allows you to accommodate almost any size frame and it sits low enough to make loading a breeze. An easy-to-use hand tightening system secures the rack to the hitch receiver, and any sort of rattling disappears with a twist of a knob. Adjustable hooks grasp the front tires, and a ratcheting strap will secure the tires to a pivoting cradle. When not in use, the entire Sherpa bikes rack folds up against the rear of your vehicle. The Discount Ramps model number for the Sherpa bicycle rack is S-101-Sherpa for the black chrome dual bike rack carrier or S-102-Sherpa for the white dual bicycle carrier. The Sherpa bicycle rack fits 1.25 inch and 2 inch class I and II trailer hitch receivers. All you do is remove an adapter sleeve included in the kit and your 2 inch shank becomes a 1.25 inch shank. The capacity of the Sherpa is 2 bikes of any style that are up to 40 pounds each. This chrome and white bike rack fit wheels sizes from 20 – 29 inches and tire sizes up to 2.75 inches in width. The wheel base of the bikes on the white or black chrome racks should not exceed 44 inches long. The overall length of the Sherpa carrier is 42.5 inches long, and from the center of the hitch pin hole to the platform when it’s in the down position is 10.5 inches. This whole set up weighs a grand total of 27 pounds making it the lightest platform rack available. The heat treated aluminum construction allows you to fold up or tilt down for easy access to the rear hatch. Thirteen inches of spacing on the rack prevents bike to bike contact.
