Dual arms are used on the Yakima SpareTime tire carrier which work well with bikes that have larger or smaller than normal frames. The Yakima SpareTime fits most lug nut patterns and can even work with tires that are off center. This premium two bike carrier uses a universal mounting plate that will not fit a spare mount with an 8-hole bolt pattern or hole-pattern greater than 5.5 inches. The SpareTime has dimensions of 3.75 inches in length, by 5 inches in width, and 6.75 inches in height. The adapter plate goes behind your spare tire to keep it safely in place and secured. This kit comes with two extensions for mounting the bike carrier on vehicles with large spares. The mounting knob is SKS (single key system) lockable hub for maximum security.
