Hello, my name is Peggy and I am the Customer Service Manager for Discount Ramps. I have been with the company for almost 8 years, and I have worn many hats over the years. My current job responsibilities are to work with our customers to make sure their experience with Discount Ramps is a positive one. Happy customers = return customers.
The most fulfilling part of my job is being able to help our customers find an item that will possibly improve their quality of life. We work with a lot of medical or health type situations where wheelchair ramps or lifts are required for our customers. For some customers, a wheelchair ramp allows them to be able to leave their house and no longer be confined.
My main job responsibility is to help a customer if they are having issues with their purchase. It could be that the item was damaged in shipping or it is just not compatible with their vehicle or application. We try to make the return or exchange process as easy as possible for our customers. Discount Ramps also stands behind the products, so if there is an issue with the quality we take care of it.
I think the best thing about working at Discount Ramps is the team of employees that we have. It truly is a team effort and all departments work really well together. This is by far the best place where I have been employed.
I joined the team in March of 2004 after being in the printing industry for over 12 years. I was given the opportunity and ran with it. When I first started there were only about 7 employees and now we have 40. We have experienced tremendous growth over the years and are very thankful for it.
Outside of work I enjoy reading, biking, walking and family camping. We camped a lot as kids growing up but then got out of it. We are now finding a new appreciation for it. I do not have children of my own, but I do have 2 nephews and 7 nieces and I love spending time with them all.
Hi. I’m Jan and I work part-time in Customer Service at Discount Ramps.Com. I have been with Discount Ramps.Com since March of 2009 and I enjoy my job very much. One of the greatest aspects of my job is that I get to speak with customers from all over the country. I really enjoy this and since we have many repeat customers, I get to know some of them on a more personal level.
My job is varied so no two days are ever the same. One call I may help someone pick out a wheelchair ramp. The next call may be helping a customer select the best pet ramp. I absolutely LOVE to receive pictures from my customers showing their pets “in action” with our products! I get a lot of satisfaction out of my job knowing I have helped someone each day.
Some of my interests outside of work are reading, traveling, meeting friends at the local YMCA, going to local music festivals and sporting events, and being a “taxi” to my two teenage children.
Thank you for ordering with Discount Ramps.com and I sincerely look forward to serving you!
Working in the Customer Service department for Discount Ramps allows me to help people and make bad situations better. I live for making people happy and being there for others. I also enjoy reading and writing poetry. After a long day of work I love curling up on the sofa while watching the Simpsons and Family Guy with my fiance.
For the holiday season we will be featuring favorite recipes to share around the office from the Discount Ramps.com staff.
Here is a post from our Customer Service Department!
Hi my name is Peggy Leasum and I am the Customer Service Manager with Discount Ramps. I have been with the company for over 7 years and really enjoy what I do.
I would like to share a recipe with you , that is a family favorite. We first experienced Banana Split Torte about 6 years ago at a family reunion in Sturgeon Bay. This recipe has also been a favorite with the Discount Ramps team. I’ve made it for our company picnics for the past few summers.
Banana Split Torte
1 ½ cups Graham Cracker crumbs (approx. 1 pack of graham crackers)
1 cup Sugar , divided
1/3 cup Butter , melted
2 pkg. 8oz. Each Cream Cheese , softened
1 can 20oz. Crushed Pineapple , drained
6 medium Bananas , divided
3 cups cold Milk
3 pkg (4 serving size each) Vanilla Instant Pudding
2 cups Cool Whip , divided
1 cup chopped Pecans
Chocolate Syrup and Maraschino Cherries
Mix Graham Cracker crumbs, ¼ cup Sugar and 1/3 cup Butter. Press into 13×9 pan and freeze for 20 minutes. Beat Cream Cheese and ¾ cup of Sugar. Spread over frozen crust (works best if you do this step as soon as you take the crust out of the freezer), top with drained Pineapple and 4 sliced Bananas. Beat Milk and pudding mixes, stir in 1 cup Cool Whip and spread over Banana layer. Top with remaining Cool Whip (you may need to add a little depending on your preference). Sprinkle with nuts (if you choose), drizzle with Chocolate Syrup and add Maraschino Cherries as a finishing touch. Although the original recipe is very good, we have tweaked it over the years. If you like a little more pudding like we do, use 1 large box of Vanilla Instant Pudding and 2 small boxes of French Vanilla Instant Pudding with the 3 cups of Milk. We also added the Chocolate Syrup and Maraschino Cherries because we felt that reflected a true Banana Split. I also changed the recipe a little bit to save a few calories by using low fat Cream Cheese, 1% lowfat Milk and light Cool Whip. This recipe makes approx. 16 generous pieces – Enjoy!
Thanks for the yummy recipe Peggy!
