This adapter is used to extend the hitch of your vehicle, using a solid, one-piece, two inch hitch receiver. This adapter is ideal for cargo carriers and bike racks. This extension is perfect for vehicles with spare tires, that need clearance of propane tanks, or to simply add clearance to your hitch. This hitch extension is facilitated to attach bike racks that otherwise would not fit. Its heavy duty steel construction and powder-coat finish gives you a safe, sturdy way to transport your bikes. To use the Bike Rack Adapter, you simply insert the 11 inch adapter into the receiver of the hitch, and then you secure it into place using the pinch bolt that is included. You then would insert your bike carrier, or the like, and tighten down the stabilizer bolt that is built into the receiver already. The anti-wobble bolt keeps your bike rack safe and secure while ensuring you’re in for a smooth ride, no matter how many bikes you’re transporting. The overall dimensions of this hitch extender are 11 inches overall–4 inches (the hitch end) and 7 inches (the receiver end)–and there are 7.5 inches between the two receiver holes. Made from a thick steel construction, this bike rack extension can carry up to 225 pounds, while only weighing in at 6 pounds. It features a built-in bolt stabilization system to help keep whatever you’re using the adapter for to stay snug and safe while driving to your destination. Moreover, with this kit you receive a pinch bolt for hook up. This trailer hitch receiver extension works only with existing two inch receiver hitches that are class III or IV.
