The four supports for the Top Deck Kayak saddle simply screw on the roof rack of your vehicle and the two tie downs that are included with this kit features friction buckles that keep the kayak secured to the roof of your vehicle and not in the road! This kayak rack is a great alternative to a full feature kayak saddle and comes with everything you need to mount, secure, and travel with your kayak safely. The mounting brackets for the kayak carrier mount directly to the existing load bars or roof racks of your vehicle. The custom designed saddle will conform to whatever shape the hull of your kayak is. The mounting brackets feature integrated rubber pads that give your kayak maximum protection while it’s being moved. To work properly, you must have a roof rack on your vehicle, and a 24 inch spread bar is required to properly mount the kayak carrier. This top deck kayak carrier fits Thule Standard, Rapid Aero, and Xsporter load bars, as well as Yakima and a factory installed luggage rack.
