Yakima designed the fork block to fit all different sized crossbars and the rear mount to be fully adjustable to handle a variety of different tires. The claw part of each mount can be removed or repositioned in one of the three grooves featured; this allows it to adapt to the size of your crossbars to make sure its a perfect fit. The forklift gives users a safe mounting point for your bicycle, and the SKS-lockable skewer with its integrated adjustment knob makes it easy to secure and lock. When you open up the end of the skewer, the red adjustment knob is displayed. This adjustment knob is used to tighten or loosen the hold on the fork of the bicycle. When you close the end of the skewer the adjustment knob is hidden and protected. You can lock the end of the skewer with the SKS core; this locks your bike to the carrier as well as secures the bike carrier to your roof rack crossbars. The compatibility of the ForkLift is added to by the easy to adjust sliding wheel tray. This wheel tray positions easily and comes with a ratcheting strap that keeps the rear wheel securely in place.
